Jewish identity

Being that Sunday is 10 Be’Tevet, we would like the chanichim to be confronted with the question: why is remembering important? 

Aims:

     ·   To learn why the Torah stresses the word generations

·      To show them the importance of passing the Torah down and learning

 To make sure that we are not the generation that breaks the chain

Teach chanachim how we are all different and how we should respect each other

Identity is not about exterior qualities, rather inner; identity is not one thing, rather made up of many varied things

Topic: What is Jewish identity 2

Goals: To pass on the message that Judaism is both a religion and a nationality – that’s our essential body of our identity.

Goal: This week the theme is personal values.  Why do you do what you do?  Every day, all of us have to make lots of little choices. We hope that they live up to what we think our values, but we all know that it doesn’t always happen the way we want it to.

Anyway, enough with the serious stuff.  This game can be adapted to suit all ages and all attention spans.

To explore what it means to be a Jew and show the chanichim that there is no one definition of a good Jew.

Goal:  To examine the concept of z’chira as it derives from TaNaCH and how collective memory shapes us as a nation

Objection:   To make the kids understand that their day isn’t fulfilled without Torah.

The chanichim will realize the complexity and the different sides of the issue of who is a real Zionist. Namely, that an American sending money to support the State of Israel, though important, today may not be considered by everyone to be a real Zionist.

Se puede hacer está actividad tratando temáticas de actualidad aunque en este preciso caso la desarrollaremos como una actividad acerca de los valores judaicos defendidos en un comunidad estándar.
