Background

In 1967, Jerusalem was reunited. It had been separated in 1948 during the War of Independence.

Game 1: Reunification

Cut out the cards and give one to each chanich. Each card has a pair, which forms a phrase. The chanichim have to find their pair. To make this more complicated, you could paper clip the words to the back of their shirts, and then they have to work together to find the pair.

Explanation: Jerusalem is one entity. When it was separated, there was something missing from the capital, just like any one of these phrases would be incomplete, have a different meaning, without the other half. This is why Yom Yerushalayim is such a happy day, because it reunited Jerusalem.
