Resource Goal
Who is a leader? Each one of the characters lead something else, a leader is one who influence people, even if it’s in music

Resource Contents
Part 1: big board with 12 different Jewish important\ special people. Each one of those persons is good in something else, what gives a variety of characters. Each one of the kids will get his own A4 paper with the same pictures + cards with names + a few details on each character. They suppose to put the right name and detail on each one of the persons. Afterwards the Madrich will check their answers with them and explain in a few words on each one of the characters (prizes for the best guesser). In the end he should ask what connecting all those people? And get to the answer that they are all Jews, and very talented in many fields. (10-12 min.) The characters: Barbara Joan Streisand two-time Academy Award-winning American singer, theatre and film actress, composer, film producer and director. won Oscars for Best Actress and Best Original Song as well as multiple Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, Golden Globe awards and the Tony Benjamin Edward Stiller Emmy-winning American comedian, actor, and a film director. Benjamin Theodor Herzl An Austro-Hungarian Jewish journalist who became the founder of modern political Zionism. He had a plan for creating a Jewish State, arrived at after contemplating other solutions as well, provided the practical program of Zionism, and led to the first Zionist Congress in Basle, Switzerland, in August, 1897 David Ben-Gurion Was the first Prime Minister of Israel. As a leader, he was instrumental in the founding of the state of Israel at the expiration of the British Mandate, carrying Israel through the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and leading the country in its first years of existence, not retiring until 1970 Albert Einstein A German-born theoretical physicist widely known as one of the greatest physicists of all time. In popular culture his name has become synonymous with great intelligence and genius. Christopher Columbus A navigator and an admiral for the Crown of Castile. His voyages to the Americas began a European effort at exploration and colonization of the continent. Zubin Mehta one of the world's greatest conductors, is a Parsee, whose Zoroastrian ancestors took refuge in India after the Muslim conquest of Persia more than a millennium ago. He has been the conductor of the Israel Philharmonic since 1991. Before that, he led the New York Philharmonic (1978-91), the Los Angeles Philharmonic (1962-78) and the Montreal Symphony (1961-67). David Copperfield A world-renowned American magician and illusionist best known for his combination of spectacular illusions and storytelling. His most famous illusions include making the Statue of Liberty disappear, flying, levitating over the Grand Canyon, and walking through the Great Wall of China. Part 2: each one of the kids will get a crown with some kind of characters on it (it can be anyone), they aren’t suppose to know what they have on their crown. They will walk around with the crown and talk with their friends- but you should treat that person in the way you would have treated the man on the crown- without telling him who he is. The kid can ask questions- but not “who am I “and ect. This is a tough game; please check that everyone understood by example. In the end you should ask your chanichim why did we played this game- and the final answer will be that each one radiate something else that make you, and the environment around him, act differently.(7-10 min.) Part 3: who is the chief? We send someone outside; choose someone to be a leader\ chief, and when the one who was out gets inside, the entire group making movements according to the chief. The kid suppose to find out who is the chief (do it at list 3 times) (5 min.) Part 4: show the persons board again and ask them who is a leader- they should decide who was a leader and who wasn’t- make a small discussion, ask them who they like the most… The answer in the end should be that they all leaders. Each one of them lead something else, a leader is one who influence people, even if it’s in music. Snack time (10 min.) Part 5: what do you want to lead? Playing the game: “the wind blows to” and they should say what they want to influence the world (it could be: knowledge, happiness, management or whatever) (5 min.) Part 6: the kids should choose a leader (make them vote) and let him (with your help) made the mifkad. (4 min.)
