שלב א': הסבר מפי המדריך לפני תחילת הפעולה על העם היהודי בגלות. לפני שמכניסים את הילדים למאהל הבונה (קפה באמהרית) על המדריך להסביר בקצרה מה עליהם לעשות בתוך המאהל ולאחר מכן לחלק את הילדים לקבוצות לפי מספר התחנות. על הילדים להיכנס למאהל להתרשם מהתמונות המוסיקה והריחות, לאחר מכן הילדים צריכים לשבת לפי הקבוצות שחולקו ולהגיע לכל תחנה ולענות על כמה שיותר שאלות. על המדריך להקציב להם 3-4 דקות בכל תחנה. שלב ב': הכנסת הילדים למאהל הבונה וחלוקה לפי תחנות. שלב ג': איסוף הילדים למעגל, סיכום הפעולה והכרזת המנצחים. מהלך הפעולה: המדריך יספר לילדים על הגלויות של העם היהודי בהתייחסות ספציפית לגלות אתיופיה. " כפי שאנו מכירים את סיפורי התנ"ך, ישנם השנים בהם שוררת השכינה וכל איש חי תחת גפנו ותאנתו, ובניגוד לימי הטוב ישנם ימים בהם כל איש הישר בעיניו יעשה ז"א העם שלנו מאבד כיוון וכל אחד חי את חייו כראות עיניו ושוכח את האיסורים ומצוות ה'. וכתוצאה מכך מתחילים להתפתות אחרי אלוהים אחרים. סיבות ההתפתות הם רבות, אם זה גזירות שמטילים עלינו עמים אחרים או שאנו נענשים על מעשינו. על מקורם של יהודי אתיופיה ועל הזמן ההיסטורי שבו הגיעו לאתיופיה חסרים מקורות כתובים. לרוב ההיסטוריה נשמרה בעל פה והועברה כך מדור לדור. הדעה הרווחת לגבי מוצאם של יהודי אתיופיה אומרת שהם צאצאי שבט דן ,בימי פילוג בין מלכות ישראל למלכות יהודה, שבט דן שהחליט שלא להיגרר לריב בין האחים ירד למצרים ומשם הדרימו עם הנילוס לארץ כוש באזור אתיופיה וסודן של היום. למסורת זו יש ביסוס במקורות - כך מנבא הנביא ישעיה בימי גלות עשרת השבטים את שיבתם הביתה של הגולים ובכלל זה מארץ כוש, "והיה ביום ההוא יוסיף ה' שנית ידו לקנות את שאר עמו אשר יישאר מאשור וממצרים ומפתרוס ומכוש ומעילם ומשנער ומחמת ומאיי הים, ונשא נס לגויים ואסף נידחי ישראל ונפוצות יהודה יקבץ מארבע כנפות הארץ" (ישעיה י"א, י"א- י"ב). לכן ילדים בואו ונצא להכיר את יהודי אתיופיה מקרוב." בשלב זה המדריך מחלק את הילדים לקבוצות ומכאן יוצאים יחד ונכנסים למאהל הבונה. כשהילדים מגיעים למאהל ניתן להם להתרשם לבד מן המאהל ומה שבו. מארגנים את הילדים ומציבים כל קבוצה ע"י תחנה. בכל תחנה ישנו דף המרכז את הנושא של אותה תחנה ועל פיו הילדים צריכים לענות (נספח א' ). על המדריך לומר לילדים שיש הגבלת זמן בכל תחנה. בכל תחנה על הילדים לקרוא ולענות על כמה שיותר שאלות (נספח ב') לגבי אותה תחנה. בכל 4-5 דקות מחליפים תחנה. הסימן יכול להיות שריקה של המדריך או הפסקת מוזיקת הרקע במאהל. בסיום כל התחנות על הילדים למסור לאחד המדריכים את תשובותיהם והמדריך סופר את כל תשובות הנכונות. למי שיש הכי הרבה תשובות נכונות זוכה במקום ה-1. לפני הכרזת המנצחים על המדריך לסכם את הפעילות. סיכום הפעילות: " כמו שאנו יודעים לאחר גלות 10 השבטים מא"י כמעט ואין זכר לשבטים, וכמו שסיפרתי בתחילת הפעילות כיום בני העדה האתיופית מוכרים כשבט דן, אחד מאותם 10 השבטים שגלו. בא"י של היום בגלל אותה גלות ישנו ריבוי תרבויות, הכוונה היא שיש המון יהודים מכל מיני ארצות, כל עדה מגיעה עם המסורת שלה ומנהגיה. יהודי אתיופיה מכנים את עצמם "ביתא ישראל" שפירושו בית ישראל. יהודי אתיופיה היו מנותקים מיהודי העולם עד כדי אמונה כי הם היהודים היחידים בעולם וייחלו כי יבוא היום וישובו לאדמתם, כל זה כבר אינו חלום. יהודי אתיופיה נמצאים בביתם תודת לאמונתם החזקה באלוקים בשיבה לציון וכמובן בעזרת ממשלת ישראל שהעלתה את רוב יהודי אתיופיה ב"מבצע משה" ו"מבצע שלמה". בסוף הפעילות ניתן לערוך ריקודים לצלילי המוסיקה האמהרית והטיגרית. אם יש זמן וכח אדם ניתן לתת לילדים לעשות רקמה של כמה צורות כמזכרת מן המאהל. בהצלחה!!
