Goal: Teach about the Takanot of Rabbeinu Gershom

Aims of the meeting:

 To show the importance of having respect for one’s fellow manTo try and relate the theme to Bnei AkivaTo make the Chanachim aware that Madrachim are human beings with feeling, and they should become more sensitive to other people.

To introduce the topic of Kiddush Hashem; to understand the high value we put on life; To learn about Pikuach Nefesh

Goal: The chanichim should understand the concept of mesorah, and why there needed to be both the Mapah and the Shulchan Aruch, namely becaue different communities, or Ashkenazim and Sefardim, need to have halacha books that are geared towards their different customs and communities.

To encourage members of Chevraya Bet to think about how they can get involved in tikkun olam b’malchut Sh-dai.

Goal:  To discuss some of the issues and value conflicts that may arise when expanding traditional halachic categories to address modern technology.

To demonstrate that the little things we do actually matter. (Kiddush Hashem etc.)
