Aims:

Ø  To learn that Avraham was the first modern orthodox jew

Ø  To learn what modern orthodoxy is

Ø  To realise that the we might differ from the charedi world but that doesn’t mean we don’t get on with them

To get the chanichim to be "jealous" of people who live in

Israel.

Objectives

1. You will gain some understanding of the history of modern political Zionism

2. You will begin to realize the hardships and challenges which faced the pioneers in

Palestine from the turn of century to the mid 1900's and their dedication to overcome these obstacles.

3. You will begin to understand that

Israel was not created in a day by the UN, but was really established through the sacrifices of those who came in response to the Zionist dream.

For the chanichim to learn about the Ethiopian aliya to Israel and the surrounding events

The goal:

To open up the subject of living in Israel, as appose to support Israel.

Get the Chanichim to think about how they feel about the subject personally, or even come to a wider conclusion thinking about Jews living in Israel, and their own part in Israel- financial, spiritual, physical, or maybe, all of them together.

To learn that each one of us is a part in a whole body that includes Am Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael. (And our goal is to keep the Torah)

To understand that if we don’t have any part of Am Yisrael or Eretz Yisrael then it’s as if we are missing a part of our own body.
