Goal:To emphasize the importance of self reliance in building up your own land and creating your own country as compared to the dependence on others which the Jews of the Old Yishuv (who primarily survived on donations from Chutz La'Aretz) represented.

: Teach the History of

Jerusalem

Review some of the basic parts of the Israeli Army; Stress the impact that Tzahal has on every Jew.

Objective:  To expose the chanichim to the different religious, political and social aspects of Israeli society. 

In addition, to give the chanichim an opportunity to think about how and why Israeli society manifests these different views in the ways that it does.  (ie why bumper stickers?)

To teach about the struggles of the Ethiopian Aliya, and a little about Aliya in general.
