Places in Israel

Goals:  To demonstrate that one of the special features of Yerushalayim was its ability to bring all of the Jews together, an important characteristic for a capital city.

This activity may be done on a weekly basis, or once at the end of the trip to recall places and experiences. In class or community, this is a useful review exercise.

1. The chanichim should understand that the issue of disengagement is not black and white, and there are emotional, ideological, political and personal sentiments behind each and every opinion.

2. The chanichim should see that this is an issue that every Israeli cares about, and that American Jews should think about and attempt to form opinions about as well.

To familiarize the chanichim with three different famous roads to Yerushalayim that took place during 3 different tkufot (time periods).

THE CHANICHIM WILL LERN ABOUT THEIR CHARACTER AND WILL BE FAMILIER WITH IT’S PERIOD OF TIME AND IT’S DEEDS.
