Settling The Land

to teach the chanichim that the only place for the Jewish people is in

Israel.

Goal: We are focusing on K'far Etzion. 

the settlers tried to occupy the place again and again and didn’t give up. This is a great characteristic- the chanichim should understand that even when things are bad in their own life, we must try again and again and not despair. It could be in school, with our friends, family, etc’.

Convey the importance of

Israel being a place for Kibbutz Galuyot and a place for all Jews.

Teach the chanachim about kibbutzim.

The idea this week is to teach the kids something about Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi. 

To teach the chanichim the story about “Shayeret  HaLamed Hei”.

Objectives

1. You will gain some understanding of the history of modern political Zionism

2. You will begin to realize the hardships and challenges which faced the pioneers in

Palestine from the turn of century to the mid 1900's and their dedication to overcome these obstacles.

3. You will begin to understand that

Israel was not created in a day by the UN, but was really established through the sacrifices of those who came in response to the Zionist dream.

For the chanichim to learn about the Ethiopian aliya to Israel and the surrounding events

Teach chanachim about independence of Israel

Background: In this peula we are going to simulate a chalutz’s attempt to live in

Israel in the 1800’s. The kids will face the same trials and tribulations that the early settlers felt, and they will have to deal with those situations.
