This week, we will talk about how a really important type of gevurah is strength in the face of assimilation.  Through all of Jewish history, we were constantly under the pressure to assimilate and be lost forever.

To teach the chanichim about global Bnei- Akiva and to show them that each country and each snif may seem different, but underneath the language and culture barriers we all work together for the same goals and ideals… Aliyah, Torah, teamwork.

That the Chanichim will understand the importance of preserving and standing for our ideals and uniqueness as individuals and a nation, and see the connection to the “Mityavnim” –the Jews that assimilated with the Greeks.

Ideas how to help Israel

To teach the chanichim about the essential nature of unity in Jerusalem

Goal: For chevraya aleph, the goal is to familiarize them with some of the worldwide Jewish causes and to emphasize that we have a connection will all Jews all over the world. For Zach, the goal is to go a make the sicha a little deeper and debate the issues; how much should we be involved in causes halfway across the world when we have so many things to be involved in right near us at home?

Convey the importance of

Israel being a place for Kibbutz Galuyot and a place for all Jews.

Goals: A peula with this theme does not present a difficult concept for chanichim to take in. But there should be more depth to it than just “being nice to each other” games. Snif should end with a feeling of caring about other people.

            But such a peula could work on several levels – dealing with the following:

i.                     Our responsibilities towards our friends

ii.                   Our responsibilities towards those people we know or know about who are less fortunate than ourselves (e.g. the elderly)

iii.                  Our responsibilities to less fortunate Jews in other parts of the world

To teach the chanachim about the problems of mixed marriage - through the story.

to create love between all people.

This Peulah is going to show the importance of a kevutzah, a group through three different games. 

Goal: the chanichim should understand that each one can hurt the whole class and it is ones power to help the whole class/ group/ friends as well
